If I can do it, you can too!

The journey I started – managing my weight – began in the 8th grade. As a victim of circumstances due to my parent’s work and lifestyle choices caused me to eat less prepared home-cooked meals and more of the easier fast food drive-thru options. Needless to say, I was given what I wanted and not what I needed. But as the saying goes, “everything happens for a reason, right?”  Well this behavior continued to the pinnacle as a freshman in college when I ballooned to my highest weight of 225 pounds of pure fast food fat and was often given the old, “you cute but…” line.

After being pressured by my college peers, I crashed dieted away 75 lbs during the course of one summer and happened to have kept it off! This literally changed the course of my life, the people I met, the life that I lived and ultimately the person I am today.

Having gone through this path of  losing the wrong way but learning the right way in the process, I have not only kept the weight off  but I’ve built strong muscles, developed a healthy eating regimen, become a personal trainer a certified Schwinn Cycling Instructor and a Les Mills Sprint Coach. I’ve run over a dozen half-marathons and three NYC marathons, through this process. Yes, I guess you can say I know a  bit about fitness and nutrition.

I’m passionate about what I do and it shows in my work and results. After living in NYC for over a decade, I moved to Los Angeles to continue to grow in my passion and have made great strides. Eating healthy and staying fit is the only option for me. It’s a no-brainer and it can be that way for you too.

  1. I remember those days at Pace when all you talked about was starting a men’s magazine. I’m so happy that you reached that goal and so many others.
