April 2, 2020

Its been just shy of a month that the entire world has been on shut down due to the corona virus. The first Pandemic of most our lifetimes. I found this post on facebook and the author is unknown. It was posted the first week of April and describes it better than I would. See this remarkable post below that says it all.

Just so I NEVER forget…
Non-essential stores and businesses mandated closed 2 weeks ago. Water and power is shut off to businesses who disobey orders.
Disneyland closes indefinitely, the entire Las Vegas strip closes.
2 weeks ago panic buying sets in and we have no bottled water, toilet paper, nodisinfecting supplies, no paper towels, no hand sanitizer. Shelves are bare. People resort to fighting over product and stealing others supplies.
CA schools are mandated to be closed the rest of the school year.

Self-distancing measures on the rise:
Tape on the floors at grocery stores to help distance shoppers (6ft) from each other andplastic sneeze guards are erected to protect cashiers. Store hours are limited from 8am – 8pm. A limited number of people are allowed inside stores at one time so there are longlines outside the store doors in the mornings hoping to get their 1 allotted paper product.

There are also special days and hours for seniors to shop.

Parks, trails, beaches are closed, entire cities are under lockdown.
All sports events and seasons cancelled.
All concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events – cancelled.
All weddings, family celebrations, holiday gatherings – cancelled.
All churches, GYMS, and dine-in only restaurants are closed.
Curfews are enacted in some cities and gatherings 3 or more are prohibited. Fines are established for breaking the rules.

There is barely anyone on the roads. Citizens are highly encouraged to self-quarantine, only leaving their homes for essential supplies and to wear masks and gloves while outside.

Essential service workers are terrified to go to work. Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families.

This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, officially declared by the WHO on March 11th, 2020.

I’m writing this because it will be a reminder that life is precious and not to take things as simple as fully stocked store shelves or lunch with a friend for granted. 🙏🏾 ♾
